CivicGlow collects only what is needed to provide accounts, subscriptions, local community stories, moderation, and safety tools. We do not sell personal information or use third-party advertising trackers.

Information we collect

• Apple account identifier and, if you choose to share it, name and email.
• Your display name, broad Circle selection, stories, private keeps, quiet thank-yous, reports, and block list.
• Subscription entitlement status supplied by Apple StoreKit in app builds 1.0.0 (6) and later. Earlier TestFlight builds used RevenueCat to help verify subscription status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
• Optional anonymous usage and crash diagnostics only after you opt in. Story text, private notes, precise location, identity, reports, and block lists are excluded from telemetry.

Information we do not collect

CivicGlow does not request precise GPS location, contact-book access, or advertising identifiers. The app uses broad user-selected community labels rather than live location tracking.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, operate the community, process membership access, moderate submissions, respond to reports, prevent abuse, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

Apple processes Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases. Earlier TestFlight builds through 1.0.0 (5) used RevenueCat for subscription verification; app builds 1.0.0 (6) and later use direct Apple StoreKit instead. Cloud hosting and database providers process data on our behalf under appropriate service terms.

Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as needed for safety, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. You can export your data or request deletion in the You & Safety tab. Deletion removes your account and unpublishes associated stories, subject to limited legally required retention.

Your choices

You can decline optional telemetry without losing app functionality, block other accounts, report content, restore purchases, manage your Apple subscription, export your data, and request account deletion.

CivicGlow is intended for adults age 18 and older.
